Garlic (Origin: Southern Europe)
Did you know that garlic is one of the few vegetables you plant in the fall for harvest the following summer? Plant individual cloves (broad side down) in the early fall (roots need to develop before Winter sets in) and you should get full garlic plants and cloves in early to mid-summer next year.
